Build a practical company compliance calendar
Turn recurring company obligations into owners, evidence and review dates.

A useful compliance calendar is not a list of every possible rule. It is a control system for the obligations that apply to your company.
Start with the registers
Record the company name, ACN, ABN, registered office, officeholders and licences. Assign a person to monitor each official record and to keep the supporting evidence.
Add recurring events
Map annual review activity, tax lodgements, payroll cycles, insurance renewals, licence dates and contract reviews. Dates depend on the company, so confirm them in ASIC, ATO and relevant regulator records.
Name an owner and backup
Every line needs an accountable owner, a second person who can act, and a place where evidence is stored. “Finance” or “the accountant” is not specific enough.
Review after change
A new director, employee, state, product or overseas market can change the control list. Add a quarterly review and an event-driven review after material changes.
